History of golf rolls back to 11th century, with traces of Chinese playing. This game has been found in Chinese book Dongxuan Records,which is of 11th century. There are also records of the similar game, mentioned in February 26 in the year 1297, in the Netherlands, in a city, Loenen aan de Vecht. The Dutch played a game, in which they used to hit leather ball with a wooden stick to hit the target, which was placed several hundreds of meters away. The player was declared as a winner of the game in least number of hits. The Dutch say that the game Scottish is referred to more like the field of hockey, these days. It is also mentioned in the 15th century laws barring and playing of the game as "gowf", and their claim looks reasonable as the word golf. Word golf is also derived from the Dutch language word “kolf”, which means stick.

The Scottish people have played golf in almost 15th century. Golf was played in the Scotland only, those days.  In the early days, Golf was played in the rough lands, having the series of holes, without the proper green grass. Golf was played with a cleek and a small ball in the eastern areas of the Scotland. With the arrival of the Scottish Baron James VI, golf was introduced in the England and its neighboring countries as well. In 1744, the Edinburgh golfers, named “Honorable Company of Golfers”, formed Golf club. The Scottish parliament’s member banned early golf to play on Sunday in order to save the dying game of Archery, but Golf spread and got popularity in not only Scotland, but also in the Whole world, like a revolution.

The modern balls of this game are more authentic and durable. The different balls of the core solid material with the modern synthetics have become more famous since the 19th century. This century is known as the best mowers of the world, particularly for the best golf ball designs and greens by using the manmade materials. Many famous companies produced the wooden golf tees in the decade of 1930s. The shaft-made products of graphite composite were also invented in the era of 1980s. So the last decade of the 21st century has seen the obvious increase in the specific golf careers throughout the world.
